Thought for the day
I spent much of yesterday fighting a front guard action to keep the flood waters out of my Somerset home (again).
On returning back inside, feeling smug and successful, I discovered the water had decided to come up through the ground anyway and was sat there waiting for me.
I had an instant feeling that I needed to learn a lesson:
Deal with the important and don't be completely focused in one direction, even when it seems like a crisis is going on around you. Something might just sneak round behind you if you do.
In case you're wondering with the weather people predicting even more rain later, I've already done everything I can outside and am poised to watch it carefully, while holding a mop and waiting for the next incursion inside.
What have I forgotten? Don't be afraid to email/comment.
